Wesley "Gene" Woody departed this life Monday, January 07, 2013 at the age of 73 to be reunited with his wife Betty.

He was born July 29, 1939 to Raymond Woody and Eileen Pillow. He was united in marriage to Betty Slone on November 27, 1958 and to this union, three children were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mae Woody and Bob and Eileen Williams, a sister, Theresa Beauchamps; mother and father- in- law, Archie and Lena Slone; sisters- in- law, Opal and Lorie Krafczich, Sharon Kay Slone, Eleanor McKee, Darlene and Jim Crutts, Erma Chapman; and  brothers- in- law, Dorsey and Helen Slone, Kenneth Slone, and Larry Slone.

He loved fishing boating and riding his Harley and spending time with his family and friends. Gene was well known in Rolla as "The Carpet Man."

Gene will be sadly missed by his surviving family which includes: three children,
Doug, Kim and Randy, and  Denise and Windle; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Shane, Shaina, Dan, Cody, Makaela, Tanner and Makenna; two great grandchildren, Rowdy and  Jayce; and a very dear friend, John Grayson who will miss him very much. Also surviving are two sisters, Jane Horn,and Janet Brinkenoff; and raised as a brother, Ronnie Pillow; sisters- in- law, Sue Bass and Dot Weithers; brothers- in- law, Bob Slone and Carl McKee; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Gene Woody will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla.  Pastors Chuck Whitmire and Ray Cook will officiate. 

Interment will follow in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m.
