Doolittle Mayor Paul Smith presented Roy Stevenson, of Doolittle, with a Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) Distinguished Service Award at Doolittle City Hall in December.
Stevenson was among 12 individuals recognized by MRPC for outstanding volunteer contributions to their communities at the organization’s annual dinner in November. Stevenson was unable to attend the dinner.
Smith nominated Stevenson for the award because of his contributions in both Doolittle and the neighboring community of Newburg.
Stevenson is very active in the Newburg Community Revitalization Project Group (NCRPG) and the Little Piney Community Partnership.
Through these organizations he organizes mud runs and music show fundraisers to benefit the Little Piney Community Park and other community projects.
He and his wife, Pat, often use their business resources to donate food and other items to community events and fundraisers.
