  • As they do twice each year, Mercy Clinic doctors and co-workers have reached into their own pockets to assist the community. The grant program, known as Force for Good, has given out more than $1.38 million since it began in 2003.
The applications for this round of grants spelled out a clear need: many in the Ozarks struggle with basic nutrition. Initially, the committee chose six food pantries and dubbed the campaign “Feed the Need.” Mercy co-workers responded by smashing the $80,000 goal and raising $108,000. That allowed the committee to add three additional grants.
Mercy Clinic’s Force for Good is pleased to announce that Phelps County Faith Distribution is the recipient of a $5,000 grant.
    About Force for Good
The first fundraiser, in 2003, benefited the Kitchen. It was such a success, doctors asked to make this an ongoing effort. Force for Good now gives grants totaling at least $80,000 twice a year. The Force for Good committee looks for ways Mercy physicians and co-workers can give back to the community. To date, the group has given more than $1.38 million in charitable gifts.
