Despite what you hear from the President, the MSM and a gaggle of actors, the US founders were right-on when they wrote and supported our right to bear arms. Their concept was that an armed citizenry would be able to stop the government from becoming a tyranny. Here are a few quotes from some of the Founders:
· “No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms” Thomas Jefferson.
· “To model our political system upon speculations of lasting tranquility is to calculate on the weaker springs of the human character.” Alexander Hamilton.
· “When the resolution of enslaving America was formed in Great Britain, the British Parliament was advised—by the Governor of Pennsylvania to disarm the people; that it was the best and most effectual way to enslave them; but that they should not do it openly, but weaken them and let them sink gradually.” George Mason.
· The whole Bill (of Rights) is a declaration of the right of the people at large or considered as individuals…It establishes some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently, no majority has a right to deprive them of. Albert Gallitan.
Here’s the quote that should stir the cockles of every American: “(America) has to bite the bullet on gun control.” Senator Diane “Annie get their Guns” Feinstein. Senator Feinstein is a moderate Democratic (the equivalent of Vladimir Lenin to Josef Stalin). Her quest is to rid ordinary citizens of all guns, not just military assault weapons. She passed an assault weapon ban edict in 1994. The law lasted ten years with no effect at all on assault weapon murders by criminals. It was ignored by everyone, including our current President, then Senator Obama, when it came up for renewal, thus expiring in 2004.
New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo recently said that he was willing to go as far as the house-to-house physical confiscation of guns from New Yorkers. If I were him, I’d fughetaboutit!
Clearly the premise of the Founding Fathers who prevailed in the enactment of the Second Amendment, guaranteed individual gun ownership as an inalienable right. They prophesized the necessity of defense of average citizens over a tyrannical government; one that would exploit its unarmed citizens up to and including their murders.
As to the argument that citizens shouldn’t have assault weapons with large magazines, I have a counterpoint. Clearly our Founders thought it wise that individual citizens could maintain any gun or rifle in light of a presumed attack by their own government. Therefore it’s imperative that US Citizens shall own any caliber of weapon they want as long as they pass a screening.
Let it be noted that Chicago has some of the toughest gun laws on record, yet it had 292 deaths from guns in the last six months while war-torn Iraq had 221.
The Soviet Union under Stalin confiscated arms, and farms. It forced state planning on growers and stole their crops, creating starvation and disease that caused millions of deaths from people who had no weapons for defense. Pretty soon, just owning a gun became a capital crime. Russia was efficient in some ways. They shunned formality and shot gun owners right on the spot. Then they grabbed their guns.
There’s one news source from outside of the United States that we ought to pay attention to. After publishing an article labeling our President a “Communist” this outlet warned about the impending battle our government is about to foist upon us.
The writer, Stanislav Mishin warns Americans of what his country did to its citizens: “One of the first things (they) did was to disarm the population. From that point, mass repression, mass arrests, mass deportations, mass murder, mass starvation was all a safe game for the powers that were.”
That article was published in November of this year in our old nemesis, Russia’s former propaganda rag, Pravda. Can there be any doubt that we are going to be battling for the very existence of our Republic if Congress is in the process of legislating away our right to bear arms?
Yes America, don’t kid yourself, it can happen here!
