Jack Ray McCray, of Rolla, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the age of 82.
He was born in Waynoka, Oklahoma on September 27, 1930 to the late Pearl Starr McCray and Ellen Spafford McCray.
On May 22, 1951 he married Betty Louise Riden who preceded him in death on May 28, 2006.
Mr. McCray was a U.S. Marine Veteran having served in the Korean War.
He retired from the University-Missouri-Rolla, now MST, as a HVAC technician after 23 years of service. Jack was also a successful farmer, raising livestock and enjoying spending time working his farm.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes four children, Teresa Willy and husband Monte, of Rolla, Dennis McCray, of Doolittle, MO, Lois Ann Marler and husband Kevin, of Columbia, MO, and Diane Atkinson and husband Michael, of Rolla; two sisters, Belva Williams and Ella Mae Light, both of Rolla; one brother, James McCray and wife Mary, of Elizabethtown, KY; six grandchildren, Charlotte Willy, Rachel Marler, Timothy Marler, Cody McCray, Tanner McCray, and Sarah Atkinson; nieces, nephews, other extended family members and dear friends.
A funeral service for Jack McCray will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Null & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service Thursday beginning at 11 a.m.
