Future Care Inc (FCI) was awarded the eighth annual Delores Brown Provider Recognition Award for excellence in service to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Each year the Division of Developmental Disabilities Rolla Regional Office recognizes one out of 50-plus providers based on its ability to enhance the quality of lives of the people they serve.
The award is in memory of Delores Brown, an employee from 1981-2003, who inspired others with her passion for the advocacy of quality lives for individuals with developmental disabilities.
FCI, based in Rolla, is an agency that has been serving individuals with developmental disabilities for 16 years. FCI provides individualized supported living and residential habilitation services funded by the Department of Mental Health.
FCI assists individuals who the agency serves to identify their own strengths and then helps each person learn to use his or her strengths to build a life and a place in the community.
FCI management also enhance its staff members’ understanding of what it means to assist people with different abilities to be fully independent in making informed choices and learning from the results of those choices.
Staff at the Rolla Regional Office extend their gratitude to Carol Snow, director at FCI, and all of the providers whose dedication and excellence allows the individuals in their care to live their lives to their fullest.
Other nominees for this year’s award included A Fresh Beginning, Citadel Association Inc, and Reliable Home Care.
