  • A man who was previously out on bond for stealing turned himself in to Maries County sheriff’s deputies for a more recent incident regarding stolen property.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jacob W. Burke, of Vienna, after he turned himself in, according to a press release from Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman.
Under one warrant Burke faces charges of burglary in the second degree, and theft/stealing of a firearm. Both of those charges are class C felonies.
Another warrant issued for Burke is for theft/stealing of property valued at more than $500, also a class C felony, possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, which are both class A misdemeanors.
Additionally, a female suspect was brought in, booked and released pending a warrant application.
On Friday, Dec. 28, members of the Maries County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 13000 block of Highway 42 just east of Vienna to search for stolen property that had been stolen from Maries County Road 339 a few days earlier.
During the course of the search, sheriff’s deputies located numerous items that had been reported stolen, including some weapons that had been stolen from an address on Highway V.
Sheriff’s deputies also located a large amount of suspected drug paraphernalia and a suspected controlled substance.
“It was good to solve these thefts and return most of the stolen property,” Heitman said.
Burke was currently out on bond for a different stealing-related charge.
Burke remains in the Maries County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
Associate Circuit Judge Kerry Rowden, of the 25th Judicial Circuit, has revoked Burke’s previous bond for felony stealing.
