I thought I was making progress with a new drug I was taking….but then here is reality to smack me in the face. Yes, maybe it worked for a bit….but [...]]]>

Wed, 4 Dec 2013 15:45:13http://www.therolladailynews.com/article/20131204/BLOGS/312049988/1442I am from the Midwest. I grew up in Ohio and have lived in Missouri for 20 years. I do know that on my mom’s side of my family tree, that two families moved from Germany in the 1850s and both families, the Hoffman’s and the [...]]]>This Week Around Pulaski County USA!

Pulaski County is I-44′s midway point between the Illinois State Line and the Oklahoma State Line. Many travelers look forward to seeing the Pulaski County signs on the roadway because they know when they need to top off their tank, grab a bite, are in need of a “sit down” meal or a clean, comfortable bed, that Pulaski County has plenty of options to meet their needs. This post is for The Chaney Blogathon, hosted by Movies, Silently, and The Last Drive-In. Be sure to visit [...]]]>Korean War Monument Dedication Held in Pulaski County, Missouri

Why does a balding, short Englishman always make me chuckle in classic, comedic films? Eric Blore, an excellent character actor, usually portrayed kind yet fussy butlers who had a way with a smarmy, sarcastic answer that sailed over the heads of the rude people asking him questions. Stories about being orphaned before he was three years old and being taken in by his grandparents and being raised in the Richland, Missouri area of the Ozark Mountains. He tells about he and his six siblings were split up after the loss of their parents. He talks about how lucky they were that they were all taken in by loving family members and not handed off to be reared by [...]]]>Throwback Thursday- Fort Leonard Wood Barracks

Boosting Kids Self-Esteem, Why Has it Grown into Such an Entity?
Tue, 5 Nov 2013 13:09:08http://www.therolladailynews.com/article/20131105/BLOGS/311059990/1442A couple weeks ago as I was listening to local radio station KTTR, the top of the hour arrived and that meant a news update from ABC Radio News. I was surprised at one story, a youth sports league in North Texas, made an astonishing announcement to its member families…that beginning next season, only teams that win will get trophies. In other words, no more trophies for all the players on all of the teams, only the winning teams and their members will be awarded trophies. (
