On December 20, 2012, Connie A. Visnapuu, formerly of Rolla, passed away while combatting MDS Leukemia in Weslaco, Texas, at the age of 74.
Connie was born on November 26, 1938, on the family farm in Irene, South Dakota, to the late Roland and Edith Jacobson. Connie was the older of two daughters.
After graduating from Irene High School she attended Cosmetology College in Sioux City, Iowa, where she met and married Aarne Visnapuu on April 20, 1962.
They moved to Rolla in May of 1964.
While in Rolla, Aarne worked for the U.S. Bureau of Mines and Connie was a hairdresser. She owned and operated the Powder Puff Salon with her best friend Susie Lewis. Connie was a member of Missouri Hair Fashion Committee. She was also a member of the BETA SIGMA SI Sorority.
In 2001, Aarne passed away. Connie moved to Pharr, Texas, in June of 2005 and remained there until her death. She enjoyed traveling. She had visited all 50 states as well as Estonia and the Scandinavian countries.
Connie will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes her daughter, Tamnera Berkas and her husband Wayne, of Helena, Montana; her son, Timothy Visnapuu and his wife Lou, of St Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Christopher Berkas and Kyle Visnapuu; her sister, Carol Thornton, of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces, Christell, of Houston, Texas, and Stephanie, of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers-in-law, Matt Visnapuu and wife Ray Jean, of Springdale, IA and Kuldar Visnapuu and wife Sandra, of Washington, CT; other extended family members and her dear friend Don Angelbeck, of Weslaco, TX.
A funeral service for Connie Visnapuu will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rolla. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 26th at the funeral home.
