Police on Friday released the identity of a St. James woman who sustained multiple gunshot wounds on Oct. 10.
Carla Sue Boyle, 50, formerly of Phoenix, Ariz., was found at approximately 4:15 a.m. at the 600 block of North Louise Street. St. James Police responded to a 911 call "stating that someone was inside the residence," according to a police-issued press release.
Responding officers found Boyle inside the home with "serious" injuries, and she was transported to an undisclosed location. Officers also found evidence of forced entry into the residence.
Evidence was collected and taken to the Missouri State Crime Lab in Jefferson City. The charge of first-degree assault is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
Further information as to Boyle's condition and her whereabouts has not been released to protect the victim and the integrity of the case.
