Several people south of Rolla lost power Tuesday night after a car crashed into an electrical pole on Lions Club Drive.
According to the Rolla Police Department, the accident occurred in the 100 block of East Lions Club Drive between Highway 63 and South Rolla Street when a 1999 Infiniti G20 owned by Bret Welshymer and driven by Corrie Welshymer, of Rolla, crossed over to the left lane, striking a curb, several mailboxes and an electrical pole.
Corrie Welshymer had a small laceration on her face but refused any medical treatment.
She was issued a summons for failure to drive on the right side of the road.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Customers in the Intercounty Electric Cooperative were affected by the outage. It is unclear how many customers were affected or for how long. A call to Intercounty Electric Cooperative was not returned by press time.
