The Ozarks Patriots Chapter of the Missouri Society, Sons of the American Revolution ended 2012 in a joint meeting with the Noah Coleman Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and the Liberty Landing Society of Children of the American Revolution.
The joint meeting, billed as “A Patriotic Christmas Program,” was held Dec. 1. The program included the rituals of all three societies, joint discussion, and performances by the Lakota Singers and the C.A.R. Lunch was also available.
The Ozark Patriots Chapter also held their annual election for new officers for the coming year. Roger Vaughn, who has been a past chapter president and state registrar in the State of Indiana, was elected Chapter president. Other officers elected included: Bill Silleck, treasurer/genealogist; Frank Furman, secretary; and Columbus Craft as chaplain.
The Sons of the American Revolution are always looking for eligible candidates for membership. The organization is in its 124th year and has chapters across the state and across the country. Eligible candidates include males who can trace their family tree back to an ancestor who supported the cause of American Independence during the years 1774-83.
