  • Charles "Frank" Harris, of Rolla, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the age of 94.
    He was born on October 14, 1918 in Anutt, MO to Henry Albert Harris and Jane Elizabeth (Mace) Harris. He married Flossie Florene (Edgar) Harris who preceded him in death on September 12, 1995. They were married for 51 years.
    Frank never met a stranger and loved to help people. He was a member of the Rolla Church of Christ. Frank was a truck driver and a farmer. He was also a warehouse manager for MO Southern Seed Co.
    In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Edward; two sisters, Lillie and Mary Bell; and a son-in-law, Geoffrey Phelps.
    Frank will be sadly missed by his surviving family which includes: two sons, Douglas Harris and wife Carolyn of Springfield, MO and Richard E. Harris and wife Patricia of Monroe, LA; one daughter, Wanda Phelps of Rolla; one brother, William Lee Harris and wife Jackie of St. Charles, MO; three sisters-in-law, Denzil Leonard, Betty Lawrence and Ella Stanton; five grandchildren, Cynthia A. Shanley and husband Mark, Melanie E. Phelps, Seth A. Harris and wife Mary, Chad F. Harris and wife Lea, and Damika D. Harris; four great grandchildren, Jessica Summer, Joseph Summer, Sean Seidman and Aaron Seidman; one great great grandchild, Braedeen James Harrell; and a host of nieces and nephews.
    A funeral service for Frank Harris will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Null and Son Funeral Home of Rolla. Wade Bower will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4 at the funeral home.
    Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Rolla Church of Christ.
