  • Mr. Allan Satterfield, 86, Republic, MO, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, following a wonderful day of fellowship with his family He was born May 8, 1926 in Eldon, MO, to Ellis and Grace (Southard) Satterfield. He was united in marriage to Helen Shanks on June 4, 1949, in Bland, MO. They began their married life in Belle, MO, later moving to Rolla, MO, where they lived until the move to Republic in the year 2000. They joined the Republic First Baptist church at that time.
     
    Allan was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during WWII. He was a route salesman, retiring from Butternut Bread Company, and was a member of the Teamsters union. He was an avid vegetable gardener and loved his pets.
     
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wray Satterfield.
     
    His survivors include his wife, Helen Satterfield of Republic; his son, Karl Satterfield, and partner David Stone , Springfield; two daughters and their spouses, Gayle and Rusty Cooper, Republic, and Karen and David Colgrove, Warsaw, MO; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister in law, Mary Ellen Satterfield, Union, MO; numerous nieces and nephews; other family and friends, many of which became as family.
     
    There was a visitation from 1-2 P.M., Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 P.M.
     
    A funeral service with military honors for Allan Satterfield will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow the service in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.
     
    Memorial contributions are suggested to Relay for Life.
