A Missouri University of Science and Technology student died in an early-morning crash Friday.
According to the Rolla Police Department, the accident occurred when a 2002 Honda Accord, owned by Judy Cobb of Overland Park, Kan., and operated by Aaron R. Cobb, 21, of Olathe, Kan., was westbound on 18th Street just before 2:30 a.m., left the side of the road and struck a utility pole at the intersection of 18th and Bardsley streets.
Aaron Cobb was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
According to a Missouri S&T spokesperson, Aaron Cobb was a senior civil engineering major at the University.
Grief councelors are available at the university and have been sent to his residence. Accoding to the faternity website, Cobb was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity.
