Ruth Ann Renick was born in Dallas September 16, 1942, and died at her home in Bradenton, Fla., on October 26, 2012. She was 70 years old.

With her parents, the late David and Lillian Ashmore, she was raised in West Texas and Joplin, Mo. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1960 as a National Merit Society student and attended William Woods College and later the University of Missouri-Rolla, while her husband was in business. She was a talented musician, playing viola with the university orchestra and later in early music groups. She was a founding board member of UMR’s public radio station.

She and her husband later moved to St. Louis city’s central west and and maintained a 110-year-old row house before their move to Bradenton about 10 years ago.

Ruth Ann’s passion was travel and, over the years, visited over 100 countries, many more than once. Her real passion was her family. She was an exceptional and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a friend you wanted to have... honest, understanding and loving.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Murray C. Renick Jr., of Bradenton; her daughter, Angela L. Renick and her son, Gabriel, of St. Louis; her son, Murray C. Renick III and his wife, Rachael, and their two sons, Murray IV and Emmit or Portland, Ore., her brother-in-law, John B. Renick and his wife, Sharon, of Rolla, Mo., and cousin, Bonnie Turner, and her husband, Hershel, of St. Louis.

Ruth Ann, with her husband, was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Holmes Beach, Florida.

Services and burial will take place at a future date in the family plot in Rolla.
