  • A Dixon man faces charges of burglary and assault after he was chased by the homeowner interrupting the alleged burglary in progress that occurred in the 21000 block of Route Y in Pulaski County.
The Pulaski County Prosecutor's Office has filed one count of burglary in the first degree, a class B felony, and one count of assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor, against Dylan Patrick Orr, 19, of Dixon.
According to a press release from Pulaski County Sheriff J. B. King, deputies were notified of the burglary in progress around 1:29 p.m. Monday.
The press release stated that the burglary suspect was interrupted by the homeowner who had chased the burglar out the front door of the residence.
The homeowner was slightly injured during a confrontation at the front door with the suspect. The suspect then reportedly ran through the woods away from the home.
Pulaski County sheriff's deputies responded to the area. One deputy went to the home to start the investigation and the other deputies began to search around the area.
A detailed description of the suspect was broadcast to all deputies and a short time later, a Pulaski County sheriff's deputy saw a car go by on Route Y with a subject matching the clothing description in the vehicle. The deputy stopped the car and St. Robert police backed up the deputy during the stop.
Working closely together, the deputy at the home and the deputy who stopped the car developed probable cause to detain one suspect from the vehicle. The probable cause later turned into an arrest and 24-hour hold.
Orr's bond was set at $110,000 and he remains in the Pulaski County Jail pending the posting of the bond.
