Eugene A. Brookshire, of Rolla, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the age of 84.
He was born on April 18, 1928 in Rolla to Joseph W. Brookshire and Nellie (VanKirk) Brookshire.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two wives, Josie Ann in 1977 and Ruby in 2011; a son, David Brookshire, a daughter, Mary Brookshire; two stepsons, Pete Keller and Richard Patton; a brother Mark Hernadez, two sisters, Dorothy and Janet; and one grandchild, Colours Prewett.
Eugene will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: two sons, Donald Brookshire and wife Ellen and Joe Brookshire, both of Doolittle; four daughters, Delores Redford and husband David of Doolittle, Peggy Brookshire and companion Randy Gleason of Newburg, Carol Gabel and husband Jimmy of Doolittle, and Bonnie Ryerson and husband Norman of Duke; two brothers, Paul Hernandez and Wayne Hernandez, both of Mattoon, IL; five sisters, Maxine Baird of Rolla, Charlotte Fowler-Lowell of Rolla, Brenda Mesplay of Columbia, Katherine Turner-Ray of Mattoon, Il, and Mary Hernandez of Mattoon, IL; step children, Pat Nowicki of Middleburg, FL, Ronald Patton of Vida, and Nancy Glover of Calahan, FL; eighteen grandchildren, Pat Elliott, Tony Ryerson, Mary Doyel, Richard Brookshire, Ryan Brookshire, Matthew Brookshire, Chelsea Brookshire, Charleigh Brookshire, Chandler Brookshire, Chase Brookshire, Michael Price, Andy Price, Montana Prewett, Aysheia Marzuco, James Huskey, Mark Huskey, Daniel Huskey and Rachel Huskey; and twenty seven great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Eugene A. Brookshire will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 29 at the funeral home.
