  • Hickle leads Long in contributions in Judicial Circuit Court race

  • Citizens for Bill Hickle reported last week it has $3,918.27 on hand for the campaign to elect Hickle to the post of 25th Judicial Circuit judge.
    In its October quarterly report filed Monday afternoon, Oct. 15, the committee reported it had received $7,625 during the Sept. 2-30 reporting period. Added to the $14,100 previously reported to the Missouri Ethics Commission, the committee has received $21,725 altogether for the general election campaign.
    For that same reporting period, the committee reported spending $7,308.27. Added to the previous expenditures of $10,348.46 it had already reported to the state commission, the total spent so far this campaign by the Hickle committee amounts to $17,656.73.
    The committee reported making a loan payment of $150 to Hickle on Sept. 19.
    The committee reported having $3,751.54 cash on hand at the beginning of the Sept. 2-30 reporting period and owned $12,300. The loan payment dropped the indebtedness to $12,150.
    Contributions received were as follows:
    • Phelps County Republican Central Committee, Rolla, Sept. 18, $6,800;
    • Texas County Federated Republican Women, Licking, Sept. 6, $100;
    • David JR Finnigan, Dixon, retired, Sept. 27, $300.
    • A total of $425 from people giving $100 or less.
    Expenditures during the reporting period were as follows:
    • $53.04 for parade supplies.
    • $200 for advertising.
    • Family Center, Rolla, Sept. 8, campaign supplies, $497.08.
    • Results Radio, Rolla, Sept. 24, advertising, $2,583.15.
    • Regional Radio for the Ozarks, West Plains, Sept. 28, advertising, $2,295.
    • Big Country 99, Houston, Sept. 28, advertising, $1,680.
    In an earlier report, one filed Sept. 6, the required report 30 days after the primary election, covering the July 27-Sept. 1 period, the committee reported these contributions:
    • Texas County Republican Committee, Licking, Aug. 22, $500.
    • Walter Werner Rentals, Rolla, Aug. 16, $500.
    • James L. Thomas, Waynesville, attorney, Aug. 23, $250.
    • $150 from persons giving $100 or less.
    The committee reported receiving a $9,000 loan from Hickle on Aug. 13.
    Expenditures for the July 27-Sept. 1 were as follows:
    • $50 for advertising.
    • Barefoot Trees, Rolla, July 28, campaign materials, $720.59.
    • GOP Group, Louisville, Ky., Aug. 17, campaign signs, $8,235.96.
    • Rolla Daily News, Aug. 20, advertising, $200.
    For the report filed July 30, required eight days before the primary election and covering the June 18-July 26 period, the Hickle committee reported contributions from:
    • John Beger, Rolla, Phelps County prosecuting attorney, of $250.
    • People giving $100 or less, totaling $150.
    The committee reported receiving these loans:
    • $800 on July 20 from Hickle.
    • $2,000 from Hickle on July 26.
    • $500 from Hickle on June 18.
    Expenditures for the June 18-July 26 period were as follows:
    • Scotts Printing, July 12, campaign materials, $489.76.
    • Missouri Republican Party, Jefferson City, July 20, voter data, $200.
    • Room rental, $143.
    • Event expenses, $130.25.
    • Advertising, $50.
    • Bank check printing and expenses, $128.90.
