Aquila Theatre is returning to Missouri University of Science and Technology to perform William Shakespeare’s comedy “The Taming of the Shrew.”
The show will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, in Leach Theatre of Castleman Hall located at 10th and Main streets on the Missouri S&T campus in Rolla. This show is part of the university’s Campus Performing Arts Series (CPAS).
Shakespeare’s timeless battle of the sexes involves a lord’s beautiful daughter who cannot be courted until her elder sister finds a husband. Her older sister’s quick temper and acerbic wit, however, frightens off potential suitors, who resort to hiring a newcomer to seduce and “tame” her.
Tickets are $38 for adults and $28 for youth. The first 75 tickets for Missouri S&T students with student IDs can see the show for free. Additional tickets for S&T students are $10.
Tickets are available online or from the Leach Theatre box office, located in the vestibule inside the main entrance to Leach Theatre, facing 10th Street. Box office hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Leach Theatre will offer discounted tickets through its Back Row Club one hour prior to the event, should tickets remain for the show. The seats in the last row of the theater will be sold for $10 each prior to the performance.
This performance is sponsored in part by Robert and Susan Hooper. Additional funding for the CPAS is provided by the Missouri S&T Endowment for the Performing Arts.
