A St. Robert man is in custody after he allegedly struck a woman and held her head over an open flame in the kitchen.
Kenneth Wayne Bell, 44, of St. Robert, was allegedly involved in the incident, according to a news release from Pulaski County Sheriff J. B. King.
Pulaski County sheriff’s deputies responded to a St. Robert residence in the 21000 block of Highway Y shortly after midnight Wednesday for a report of domestic assault in progress.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with the female victim who told them her male friend had struck her on the head several times, then had grabbed her around the neck and held her head over an open flame on the kitchen stove.
The victim’s 16-year-old daughter told deputies the same story, adding that she had attacked the male subject to defend her mother. Between the woman and her daughter, they were able to hold the male subject down on the floor until deputies arrived on scene.
A statement of probable cause was sent to the Pulaski County prosecutor requesting charges for the assault. At this time, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is waiting on a decision from the prosecutor.
Bell also was found to have an active Pulaski County felony warrant for unlawful use of a weapon. Bell was taken to the Pulaski County Jail and held there, pending the posting of a $25,000 bond.
