The source of a fire that damaged a mobile home southwest of Rolla Friday morning started in the utility room, according to Rolla's rural interim fire chief.
Jeremy Light, interim fire chief with the Rolla Rural Fire Protection District, said nobody was injured in the fire that broke out in the mobile home located in the 14000 block of County Road 7120, off Route CC.
Firefighters with the rural fire district responded to the blaze around 9:30 a.m. and was assisted by Doolittle firefighters. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Light said.
In addition to smoke and water damage, Light said one room was burnt and there was damage to the ceiling.
Light said the home was occupied at the time, but he was unsure of who lived there or owned it.
