Ova B. “Rusty” Lewis, of Rolla, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the age of 86.

Ova was born on March 21, 1926 in Black, MO to John A. Lewis and Cora I. (Bennett) Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Reba in 1988; a daughter, Oleana in 1992; and a great grandson, Tristin; brothers and sisters, Delbert Lewis, Paul Lewis, Harley “Speed” Lewis, Ila Curtis, Wanda Licklider, Helen Lewis, Joanne Lewis; and an infant brother.

Ova loved his family dearly and especially loved the Lord. On November 20, 1998, he married Opal (Skyles) Lewis who survives of the home.

Ova will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his wife, Opal Lewis of the home, one son, Rick Lewis and wife Pamela of Edgar Springs; four daughters, Sharon Daily of Fulton, MO, Patricia Yates and husband Johnny Ray, Sr. of Rolla, Melinda McCormick and husband Linly of Rolla, and Janet Ellis and husband John of St. James; two brothers, John D. Lewis of St. James, MO and Rev. Perry G. Lewis and wife Betty, of Berryman, MO; one sister, Ina Boulware of Springfield, MO; two stepdaughters, Donna Roesner and husband Stanley of Rolla and Kathy Fleger of TN; twenty six grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Ova Lewis will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Pastor Danny Kemp and Sister Virginia Trew will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rolla City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 23 at the funeral home.
