William Russell Field was born in Alva, Oklahoma November 19, 1929 and passed from this life on August 30, 2012 at his home in Vichy, Missouri. He grew up in Kansas City and served in the U.S. Air Force.
On discharge, he attended the then Rolla School of Mines receiving his degree in Electrical Engineering. He received his Masters Degree during his employment at Los Alamos National Laboratory from which he retired in 1990.
Upon retirement, he moved to Vichy with his wife, Stephanie. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Vichy Fire Department and served on its Board of Directors for many years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Edith Hoiberg. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his sister, Jeanie Bax and her husband James, of St. James; his daughter, Renee Field and life partner Donna Hall, of Columbia; his son, Scott and his wife Linda, of Denver, Colorado; his niece, Rebecca Merrell and her husband Frank, of Flat; his niece, Bobbi Nelsen and her daughter Ashlynn, of Vichy; niece, Trish Aston and her husband Barry and their two children, of Saginaw, Texas; stepson, Gerald Lindstrom and his wife Teri and two children, of El Vado, New Mexico; sister-in-law, Robyn Smith and her husband Pat, of El Vado, New Mexico; and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Lindstrom and his wife Shine, of Saudi Arabia.
As was his wish, a celebration of life will be held at the Vichy Firehouse November 11 at 2:00 p.m.
