Join the fun in Sedalia on Friday, Sept. 21 and Saturday, Sept. 22 at the second annual Queen of the Prairie Festival of the Arts. The festival will highlight an exciting weekend. The fun-filled event includes Harley Motorcycles, an Air Show, an Arts Festival, Cowboys, a Downtown Dash 5K Run/Walk, and live performances.
Friday evening kicks off the events with a competition Bike Show at Yeager's Cycles and then on Saturday, Sept. 22, the day begins with Chris Cakes (a large griddle for pancake making), helicopter rides and a fly-in at the airport, in downtown Sedalia the second annual Queen of the Prairies Festival of the Arts includes fun for the entire family.
"Get Your Feet Moving" with the 5K Downtown Dash Fun Run with a course winding through the historic districts of Sedalia. The evening wraps up with a motorcycle parade through downtown and a concert featuring Sony recording artist, Tyler Farr.
The arts festival will host a nice variety of artists and crafters, from glass and pottery, paintings and sculpture to weaving and spinning a great time to purchase a new piece for your home or begin your Christmas shopping. The day promises to offer a lot of fun for all, a good time to take in a variety of performing arts and to hear some great country music.
"Come out and enjoy the day in Sedalia," said Madge Gressley, a coordinator of the event. "And don't go home because the sun goes down," cautions Gressley, "there is still plenty to do."

We promote the arts in the community and coordinate and promote cultural and artistic activities that enhance an appreciation for all facets of creative expression as well as an appreciation for the diversity in the region.
