Mohtaram Yeganeh-Rad passed away peacefully at the Rolla Manor Care on August 31, 2012 at the age of 92.
Mohtaram was born in Tehran, Iran on August 27, 1920 and was a resident of Rolla since 1978. She was married to Mahmoud Yeganeh-Rad for 70 years.
Besides her husband, she leaves a brother, retired Army General Ali Malakkhosravi of West Palm Beach, FL and 4 children: Nassreen (Roger) Rome, Noushin Rad, Mohsen (Farideh) Rad and Yousef Rad.
For over 30 years she worked in Iranian Ministry of Education.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all those who loved her, especially her grandchildren: Yasimin Rad of Los Angeles, CA, Sasha Rad of Tucson, AZ, Dr. Parmis Rad husband Roland Lechner and daughter Ruyan of Dallas, TX, Ghloriz Rad of San Francisco, CA, Sally (Rowdy) Yates of Arlington, VA, Holly (Michael) Blattner of St. Louis, MO and Dr. Daniel Rome of New York, NY.
Having lived under a tyrannical and authoritarian regime, she proudly became an American citizen 1984 and was always mindful of this country’s blessings. Though her life always referenced the deep and gentle traditions of Persian culture, she was proud to be an American.
The family wishes to acknowledge the Rolla Manor Care staff for its extraordinarily professional and loving care during Mohtaram’s stay.
Arrangements are under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary of Rolla.
