  • Amy Adele Snelson was born December 12, 1960, in Rolla, Missouri to Velma (Nielsen) Overby and the late Noble Overby, and entered into rest August 30, 2012 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 51.

    Amy graduated from Rolla High School in 1979 and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Missouri State University in 1983. Following her graduation from college she was employed by the Division of Family Services and the Missouri Department of Mental Health- Division of Developmental Disabilities.

    Survivors include her husband Gregory John Snelson, Rolla; mother Velma Overby, Rolla; sons Ryan David Green, St. Louis, and Garrett Thomas Green and significant other Lunden Davis, Rolla; step son Brady John Snelson, Rolla; brothers Thomas Overby and wife Tina, Myrtle Beach, SC and James Overby and wife Pat, Rolla; sister-in-law Rebecca Snelson, Rolla; nephews Hunter Overby, Rolla, Michael Klaus, Maryville, MO, Canyon Snelson, Rolla, nieces Andrea and Jaime Overby, Myrtle Beach, SC and grandchildren Ryan David Green, Adelaide Green, Jude Green and Zachariah Green. Survivors also include her father-in-law and mother-in-law Stan and Vicki Snelson of Rolla along with extended family members and many friends. Amy will be sadly missed by all those who loved her dearly.

    She was preceded in death by her former husband David Green and father Noble T. Overby.

    A memorial service for Amy Adele Snelson will be held Thursday, September 6 at 7 PM at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla with Rev. Pat Adams officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 6 from 5 to 7 PM at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla.

    Memorials are suggested to the Newburg United Methodist Church. Cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.

    Arrangements are under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary of Rolla.
