Recent receipts for gas tax revenue distributed from the state of Missouri to Phelps County showed almost no change compared to the same time last year, according to financial statements released Tuesday.
Phelps County Treasurer Carol Green gave county commissioners at their meeting a copy of a report showing the comparison of County Aid Road Trust (CART) fund distributions to Phelps County over the last few years.
The county receives distributions from three tax funds administrated by the state — gas, motor vehicle sales and motor vehicle fees.
The gas tax revenue received in July 2012, which amounted to $53,625, was almost similar to the amount received in July 2011, which was $53,624.21.
Motor vehicle sales tax revenue increased to $12,378.24 in July 2012 from $10,799.59 in July 2011, a positive difference of about 14.62 percent.
Revenue from motor vehicle fees declined slightly from $6,657.76 received in July 2011 to $6,513.82 received in July 2012, a negative difference of about 2.16 percent.
The amounts received in July are from a previous month’s collection in each of the three categories.
Year to date, the county has received a total of $358,987.02 in gas tax revenue, $74,341.07 in motor vehicle sales tax revenue and $50,942.33 in motor vehicle fees revenue.
