By Karrah Steen 2011
Karrah Lavaughn Steen was born August 14, 1998 in Rolla, Missouri to Eric and Lorie Steen of Edgar Springs. On Friday, August 24, 2012 she was involved in a tragic accident in Doolittle, Missouri and taken from this world too soon.
Karrah attended Newburg Jr. High School and was to start the 8th Grade on Tuesday, August 28th.
Karrah loved her sports and played Basketball and Soccer and ran Track. Her Basketball career took her across the country on an elite team made up of girls who shared her talents. During Karrah's Track career she set two new school records, one for the long jump and the other the 200m.
Karrah loved life and her family and friends. She was a Vets Buddy volunteer at the Missouri Veterans Home and loved spending time helping others. She enjoyed playing “around the world” with her Papa, baking and sewing with her Grandmothers and watching movies and hanging out with her brother and sister.
Her smile and personality was infectious and whoever met her, they were left a better person.
She will be sadly missed by her loving parents, Eric and Lorie Steen, her little sister Chelsie (Boo) and brother Bray, Maternal Grandparents Garold and Theresa (Terri) Gately, Paternal Grandparents Dale Steen and Edith Steen, Uncle Neal Gately and daughter Allie, Uncles Bill Steen and Family and Mark Steen and Family, Maternal Great Grandparents Aytchie & Evelena Pelikan, Paternal Great Grandparents Alma Steen, and many other loving friends and family members.
Karrah is still sharing her loving heart even in her death as she was an organ donor.
