A 21-year-old St. Louis man has been charged in an armed robbery that occurred Saturday in Devils Elbow, and Pulaski County Sheriff deputies are searching for two other suspects involved in the robbery.
The Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a charge of robbery in the first degree, a Class A felony, against Tyron King Spence, according to a news release from Pulaski County Sheriff J. B. King.
The bond on Spence was set at $500,000 and he remains in the custody of the Pulaski County Jail.
The sheriff’s news release stated that the robbery occurred Aug. 18 around 1:30 a.m. on Teardrop Road.
The victim of the robbery named one of the suspects and described two other black males who took cash, a TV, and a cellphone from the victim’s residence. The victim provided a description of the vehicle that the suspects were driving when they left the victim’s home.
Later that morning around 5:16 a.m., the victim contacted the sheriff’s office and told deputies that the getaway vehicle from the robbery was located in the 15000 block of Hallmark Lane in St. Robert.
The victim said there were four black males on the front porch of the home on Hallmark Lane. As deputies were responding to this location, shots were fired at the robbery victim, who was struck in the right thigh by one bullet.
The victim was treated and released from a hospital, according to the sheriff’s department.
Deputies located Spence, one of the suspects from the armed robbery, but several other people fled the scene and deputies are searching for them.
Deputies applied for and served a search warrant at the home on Hallmark Road and seized additional evidence related to the robbery.
At this time the shooting assault remains an open investigation and deputies are continuing to work on the case.
