Rolla will be hosting three state or regional Amateur Softball Association (ASA) tournaments at Ber Juan Park over the weekend.
Rolla will host the Missouri Amateur Softball Association (ASA) slow-pitch Women’s Superball Championship tournament Saturday at Ber Juan Park. In addition, the ASA girls’ fast-pitch Mid-America Region 18-Under Gold Championships and the Mid-America Region 18-Under A Championships will be held at Ber Juan.
First-round games in the Superball event are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The event will include seven women’s slow-pitch softball teams. It will be a double-elimination format.
One area squad in the field is Fire & Ice, of Salem/Rolla area. Fire & Ice will play Dirty Deeds of Springfield at 8:30 a.m. in the first round Saturday.
Other teams playing will be X-Rayted of Springfield, St. Louis Hummerz, Just For Fun of Farmington, Crush of Springfield and Dynamite Softball of Mexico.
The championship game is set for 9:30 p.m. Saturday. In case of an “if” game, it is slated for 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Mid-America Regional 18-Under Gold Championships will be held Friday through Sunday. The double-elimination contest will include 11 teams.
Teams include KC Zephyrs Gold, Nebraska Gold 17, KC Peppers Ingle, NE Fury Gold, Mac N Seitz Naturals Gold, St. Louis Esprit, Kansas Renegades Gold, St. Louis Fusion Gold, Team Power Gold, Olathe Rockets Gold and KC Xtreme.
First-round games begin at 6 p.m. Friday. Play on Saturday begins at 9 a.m. Sunday’s championship game is set for 3 p.m. on Morgan (North) Field. In case of an “if” game it is slated for 5 p.m. on Morgan Field.
The Mid-America Region 18-Under A Championship event includes pool play games Saturday between Classics Gold vs. St. Louis Stingers at 9 a.m.; St. Louis Stingers vs. Olathe Rockets (Loveless) at 11 a.m., and Classics Gold vs. Olathe Rockets (Loveless) at 1 p.m.
Pool play is to begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The championship game is slated for 11 a.m. Sunday on the Kimmel Field. In case of an “if” game, it is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday on Kimmel.
There is no admission charge for the tournament games over the weekend.
Men’s Church State
Christian Fellowship of Rolla will be competing in the men’s slow-pitch softball ASA Missouri Church State Tournament on Saturday in Springfield.
The church state tournament will feature 11 teams and has a double-elimination format.
Christian Fellowship of Rolla plays Life 360 of Springfield at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in first-round action.
Other teams in the church state field include Northside Christian of Springfield, TCC of Springfield, Central Broncos of Springfield, Patton Fellowship, SFN of Springfield, the Central Jaguars of Springfield, Evangel Temple of Springfield, Ozark Community and Lifequest Church of Springfield.
