  • Rolla’s Mark Martin was tied for 17th overall in the Age 16-18 Division after Monday’s first round of the 2012 Missouri Junior Amateur Championship, at Paradise Point Golf Course.
    Martin, a standout for the Rolla High School boys’ golf team, shot 4-over-par 76 during Monday’s first round. He birdied the 149-yard, par-3 No. 8 hole.
    Henry Simpson, of Mission Hills, Kan., was leading the Age 16-18 Division after the first round with 70 while six other players were a stroke back at 71.
    Also in the 16-18 Division, Licking’s Ian Barnes was tied for 25th with 77.
    There are 96 golfers in the Age 16-18 Division.
    Tanner Owen of Parkville, Mo. leads the 32-player field in the Age 14-15 Division after Monday’s round, with 4-under-par 68. Preston Fleenor of Mission Hills, Kan. and Christopher Ferris of St. Louis were tied for second in the Age 14-15 Division with 70.
    In the Girls’ Division St. Robert’s Taylor Vick was in sixth place after Monday’s round with 12-over-par 84. Leading the Girls’ Division is Taylor Black of Warrensburg with 77.
    The final round of the Missouri Junior Amateur was yesterday.
