The annual Sip ‘n Savor St. James event will be May 5 in downtown St. James.

The annual Sip ‘n Savor St. James event will be May 5 in downtown St. James.

Multiple breweries and vineyards are on board for the event, and St. James Chamber of Commerce Director Jennie Miller said there should be plenty of events and drinks to keep patrons busy.

Sip ‘n Savor  will feature samplings from nine Missouri wineries and 10 craft breweries. 7C’s Winery, Belmont Vineyards, Heinrichshaus, Inc., Les Bourgeois Winery, Meramec Vineyards Winery, St. James Winery, Stone Hill Winery, Three Squirrels Winery and Wenwood Farm Winery round out the wineries.

Craft breweries include Big Sky Brewing Co., Blue Moon Brewing Co., Boston Beer Co., Boulevard Brewing Co., Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co., Magic Hat Brewing Co., Piney River Brewing Co., Public House Brewing Co., Pyramid Brewing Co. and Spoetzl Brewing Co.

The wineries and breweries will be paired with St. James Chamber member businesses throughout the community.  

Wine and beer tasting will be held from 2-6 p.m., according to Miller.

“The first 1,000 participants checking in at the ticket booth will receive a complimentary shopping bag with a logo wine glass,” Miller said.

Brent Copeland & the ACP Band are set too make an appearance from 2-5 p.m.

A Beer and Wine Garden with live music is scheduled from 6 p.m.– midnight.  

Bands performing at the Beer and Wine Garden are Beeker Street and Alderwood. Admission to the Garden is included with purchase of a Sip ‘n Savor wristband or may be purchased separately upon admission to the evening event for $5.

Tickets for the event are $20 through 4 p.m. on today and $25 on May 5. Tickets are available locally at St. James wineries, Grellner Sales, St. James Chamber of Commerce & Tourist Center, Rolla Tourist Information Center, or online at through May 4.

Tickets will be available at the ticket check-in booth, located at the corner of East Washington Street and Hwy. 68, on May 5 at a cost of $25. Ticket sales at the check-in booth will cease at 5 p.m. on May 5.

Also May 5, the St. James Parent Teacher Organization will host a craft fair at John f. Hodge High School.
