  • Kristin Look, a native of Rolla and junior at Central College, will compete with the Central College mock trial team at the American Mock Trial Association Opening Round Championships (ORCs) hosted by the University of California Irvine March 10-11 in Newport Beach, Calif.
    Central's nine-member squad received an at-large bid to the ORC following regional competition and will face off against 23 teams from across the nation for the chance to advance to the AMTA National Championship Tournament. The top six teams from each of eight ORCs qualify for the national tournament in Minneapolis, Minn. April 13-15. Central's ORC tournament field includes teams from Stanford University, University of Southern Calif., University of Calif.-Los Angeles and Ariz. State University, among others.
    Central College is a private, four-year, residential liberal arts college in Pella, Iowa. Central's academic program offers 39 majors leading to a bachelor's degree, along with pre-professional programs and advising. Central was recognized in the 2011 U.S. News & World Report's annual rankings of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation.
