The officers were looking for a man with an arrest warrant out of Phelps County for a drug-related offense.

Scenes like this were repeated several times Tuesday morning as law enforcement proved to potential criminals that geographic borders mean nothing with a little bit of cooperation.

The officers were conducting a third sweep of drug arrests in the past month, this time in Crawford County.

Fifteen people were arrested on drug charges originating from a grand jury held in Phelps County earlier this summer.

When combined with the 34 arrests made Sept. 9 and 25 arrests made Aug. 25, a total of 74 people have been arrested in the trio of sweeps.

While the arrest number Tuesday morning was lower than previous sweeps, the effort was significant in another way - this was the first sweep conducted outside of Phelps County.

Area law enforcement have conducted sweeps in years past, but suspects have been able to avoid the sweeps by moving across county lines, but not this time.
