The trail of smoke that could be seen from the northern city limits of Rolla Wednesday morning led to a fire at a group home 2.6 miles south of the city limits.

The fire started between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., and as of 10:30 a.m. flames were still shooting from portions of the building.
