Kristen Drage has been rewarded for her outstanding 2010 season by being named to the Daktronics, Inc., All-Midwest Region first team at first base announced on Wednesday.


Drage, a junior from Morganfield, Ky., led the Lady Miners in virtually every offensive category this past season. She finished the year hitting .427, third best in the GLVC and was amongst the top five in the conference in slugging percentage (.747), doubles (16), runs batted in (45) and total bases (112). She was just outside the top five in home runs finishing the year with 10.


Drage hit .438 with runners on base and .420 with them in scoring position. She had 19 multi-hit games, including six three-hit games. She also had 11 multi-RBI contests and finished the year on a seven-game hitting streak.


Drage will move on to the national ballot for a spot on the All-America team.
