Sophomore designated hitter Will Morrison of the Missouri S&T baseball team has added another post-season honor to his resume, as he was named Tuesday to the American Baseball Coaches Association’s All-Midwest region first team at his position for the 2010 season.


Morrison, a former all-stater at Rolla High School, led the Miners in hitting on the year with a .391 batting average, the 10th-best mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. He reached that mark by setting an S&T single-season record with 75 hits on the year – third in the league during the regular season – and drew a team-high and school record-tying 29 walks to record a team-leading .467 on-base percentage.


Morrison also batted .376 with runners in scoring position, had 22 multiple-hit games and recorded a 10-game hitting streak during the season. He finished the year with six home runs and 33 runs batted in.
