The Phelps County Commission spent most of Thursday’s session reviewing sealed bids for road-maintenance supplies the county will need throughout the year.

The Commission did not award any of the bids during its semiweekly meeting, and commissioners told the half-dozen or so vendors who attended that Road and Bridge Supervisor Walter Snelson would need time to review the 16 bids from suppliers of rock, chip and seal, asphalt, culverts and grader blades.

Snelson said he would review the bids with attention to price and quality. Also, he said, the bids could be split and awarded to more than one company.
