James Raymond Fleming passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the age of 93 in Rolla, Mo.

James Raymond Fleming passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the age of 93 in Rolla, Mo.  He was born Sept. 26, 1915, in St. Louis, Mo., to the late James Ralston and Mertie (Snelson) Fleming.
James served in U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in Belgium, France, and England, and was the recipient of six bronze stars.  After his service in the military, James was employed by the U.S. Postal service until his retirement in 1976.  During his retirement he enjoyed playing and making violins.  In addition to his employment with the U.S. Postal Service James farmed throughout his life in Phelps County, Mo.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Rolla for over fifty years.  He was also a member of the American Legion Post 270.
Survivors include his wife Lena Mae (Mansbridge) Fleming; daughter Anna Naeger and husband Ken of Traverse City, Mich.; and granddaughter Beth Engels and husband Matt of Lansing, Mich.; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his sister Isabel Mesko, in addition to his parents.
Funeral services for James Raymond Fleming will be held at noon Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla with Pastor Tim Cook officiating.
Interment will follow at Rolla City Cemetery with Full Military Honors. 
Visitation for family and friends will also be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 1, 2009,  at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla.        
Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church of Rolla or Rolla Presbyterian Manor.  Cards are available at all James & Gahr locations
