Saturday morning Rolla and Catholic was locked in a scoreless tie when the game was made official at halftime due to the weather.

It is uncertain if the rest of the tourney will be rescheduled.

“On Friday night we seemed very anxious in our play and never settled into any kind of a rhythm with the ball,” Rolla head coach Mike Howard said of his squad’s season-opener. “Defensively we played great in both games.

“(Goal-keeper) Adrian Pogue saved a penalty in the first half of the second game. Rachel (Zamazanuk) and Kendra (Wood) both made saves on sure goals. Amanda Rogers and Taylor Banholzer were both solid in the back as well. We need to work on our attack in the final third, but all in all it was a decent weekend for us against some quality opposition."

Rolla is scheduled to play again Thursday in Columbia against Rock Bridge High School, with the junior varsity game starting at 5 p.m. and the varsity contest to follow.
