Betty B. Stevens, of Rolla, passed away Thursday, April 24, at the age of 86.

Betty B. Stevens, of Rolla, passed away Thursday, April 24, at the age of 86.

She was born in Excello, Mo., on Dec. 4, 1921, to the late Ed and Susie Binder. On June 2, 1946, she married Floyd Stevens, who preceded her in death on May 30, 2000.

Betty taught General Business classes at Rolla High School for many years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and many ladies clubs in the Community.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Binder.

She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes her son, John Stevens and wife Jan, of Rolla; her daughter, Susan Carter and husband Jack, of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Julie Hirtz and husband Paul, of Rolla, James Stevens, of New Orleans, La., Adam Carter, of Springfield, Mo., and Aaron Carter, of Rogers, Ark.; great grandchildren, Landon and Kathryn Hirtz, and Taytum Carter; she is also survived by her niece Paula and husband Richard, of Excello, Mo.

The family would like to thank the staff at Rolla Manor Care for their kindness throughout the years to “Miss Betty.”

A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Null & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in the Rolla City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 26, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church.
